Advanced Acting • Screen Skills • Musical Theatre • Industry Prep
In 2026, The Pretend People is launching a brand-new series of fortnightly, 2-hour Sunday workshops for young performers who want to go deeper than regular drama classes.
These sessions are application-only, designed for passionate kids and teens who already take classes, love performing, or are starting to audition professionally.
Each term has its own focus — from screen acting and self-taping, to musical theatre technique, to industry essentials like choosing the right monologues, songs, and audition material. Kids can join for one term or continue across all four for a full year of growth.
Led by professional actor and coach Veronica Clavijo, with guest artists throughout the year, these workshops give young performers real industry training, in a nurturing, confidence-building environment.
Serious skills, plenty of heart — and absolutely no “glorified holiday care” energy.
Just focused, joyful, professional-level learning for kids who want to level up.

Founded by performer, writer, and arts educator Veronica Clavijo, The Pretend People was born from a deep belief in the power of storytelling, self-expression, and community.
With over 15 years of experience in teaching performing arts and a vibrant career on stage and screen, Veronica brings professional industry insights with a playful, inclusive approach that puts kids and teens at the centre of the creative process.
Our workshops fuse the magic of theatre, screen acting, writing, music, and movement to help young people discover who they are and what they can express. We don’t just teach performance skills; we nurture confidence, curiosity, and creativity.
